Louise McCurry

Louise McCurry believes actions speak louder than words in building a strong community and has been active for 50 years as a volunteer in many diverse Hyde Park education, schools, health, housing, parent support, childcare worker training and certification, abused women and rape victims counseling and support, child welfare programs, and ecology organizations. Currently, Louise is volunteering as: Parks Committee Chair on the HPKCC Board, President and Park Steward of the Jackson Park Advisory Council; Member of NPAC, CPAC, MPAC, and SPAC; Openlands Treekeeper; and Director, Referee, and Coach for Hyde Park AYSO. In Jackson Park, Louise volunteers as a community ecology educator, steward, tour guide, community service project leader, organizer for community youth music, art, recreation and community engagement projects, and as an advocate for park restoration, revitalization, and accessibility for people with disabilities.
